Hey Chris - - good to see you around for a little gab. I am looking at some changes in my kitchen too. Mine is not that old, but the composite solid poured tops are now cracking. Soooo, gunna change them to granite and go with a whole new set of the black stainless appliances - - that should put a bit of pazzazz in the kitchen. My oak roots are heaving and cracking my drive, so have to bust it out, cut some roots, then put in pavers to match the ones on the walkway around to the front door. OUCH. Gotta do it.

Trying to get a bunch of stuff done around here and then head back up to Sapphire Valley in October for the leaf change - - gorgeous up there. Banging around on my ToDo list - - slowly getting smaller. Then I can go relax for awhile and enjoy it with nothing bugging my mind. Well, let's say "less stuff" bugging my feeble mind. LOL

More ph00......................

Got to my son's place yesterday. Did about an hour and a half in Wyoming where my ground speed was 55, and my air speed was about 115. Tough pull, busy steering.

Pulled the slide drive out and tore it down. Sure as shooting, the brass was stripped. Nobody in the town I was in had anything like it. Replaced the gears with a piece of tubing and buttoned it up. Dug the 3/4" ratchet and cheater pipe out from behind the seat in the truck and that's my slide drive for now.

At about $400 for a new motor-gearbox, I'm toying with setting up a chain drive and hand wheel on the back bumper.

Also had a piece of sheet metal bent to fit above the wheels where the 100 mph tape blew off in the wind. I don't think I'll have any more trouble with that.

Talked to my Mom in Casper. She said the wind was howling. She described it as lots of fresh air, just hard to catch!

Wow, had noticed the weather out west on the news. Sounds like you have had some howlers out there. Hot and humid down here. Hit the yard at 6:30 this morning to finish up weeding, fertilizing and touch up on the mulch - - only put down 24 bags instead of the usual 90 or so. Looks nice. I was soaked, hot, tired and hungry when I came in - - had no idea it was 1:30 and no lunch yet. Showered and plopped - - sore. Getting to old for this stuff. Let the squirts do it while I pull an OBummer and go play golf when anything important is happening.

Put on fresh ph00 and coffee since no one else had done it, and just poured myself a ph00...................

Maybe have some fresh baked banana bread tomorrow morning - - the blonde is a phenomenal baker - - ummmm so good. Can't wait. Might have to sneak a taste when she pulls them from the oven.

Morrey - - be good. and safe. and nice. (I know, tough rules.)

Good morning from a very hot and humid south Texas. Moving further south to just short of the border today and tomorrow early will cross back into Mexico and expect to be home shortly before dark. So far done over 3,300 miles since leaving home on Sept 10. Had a good time in Wichita with my friends.

Off to find something to eat and then hitting the highway again.

See yuh.

Lonely around here. I got tied up this morning and could not get in earlier. Big boy came in but did nothing but leave the lights on...............

Glad trip is going well, Stan. Don't hurry - - all will still be there when you get home.

Banana bread was fantastic - - the smell of it baking drove me crazee all afternoon, but the taste was even better. Soooo, brought a loaf in and it is on the counter along with fresh coffee and ph00 - - and hot water for Claude's tea. .......................................L8R
