figured out the problem. Turns out the hose line that connect filter cannnister and VP44 was letting air into the system. I added some wormgear clamps and all's well. I should've suspected that stock clamps were bad, due to the ability to remove the clamps with fingers. didn't realize how tender the fuel system is.

sorry about not getting back to you sooner. It's been awhile since i read my posts. I have been on moparman1973 boards trying to get answers to my problems. i finally fixed the dead pedal issue. switched out VP44 and installed a timbo apps. new issues are abs/brake light on. took it to shop and told have problems with abs control module. replaced with a used one, took it to dealer to reprogram, still having issues. new issue is that my truck is sputtering at 30-70mph. checked my lift pump and delivery is okay based on flow test. don't have any idea what's going on. are you having any issues?
