Hello, this is my first time posting in the 1st gen forum so sorry if I dont quite know all the 1st gen terminology. Any how I have a neighbor that has a 93 with 220k on the motor that doesn't run. He says the VE is leaking like a faucet. He want's to get rid of the truck. Does anybody know how much just the motor is worth? He is considering getting rid of just the motor and then scraping the rest of the truck. (it's been a work truck) Thanks for any input.

I know at the junk yard i used to work at had a 12valve first gen. and they was wanting 800 for it but it had a broken timing cover and missing the pump. unsure of the milage

 

Craigslist and ebay puts them between $1000 and $2000. Just the motor Id say 1000-1500 depending on condition....leaking pump, $800-1000.

 

A good running 12 valve (100-180,000 miles) is worth $2,000.00 in these parts, but it has to be issue free.

 

I just checked at Cummins Cal Pacific while I got my rear main seal and gasket and I had to ask about a remanufactured 5.9 Cummins for our truck, $6,800.00 with a $2,600.00 core charge, this includes the VE pump and the turbo.

He also said they have them new but I think he said it was about $9,000.00.

They were both sitting there on a pallet ready to come with me.

tell your buddy to get a used pump and get it running, much easier to sell.

 

I just sold 1 for $1700 and could of sold 2 more if i had them. as soon as it was gone the phone started to ring from people who found out I had 1 forsale
