Whats a high pressure bypass spring?

Whats a high pressure bypass for the injection ? I heard the springs go bad. I heard its common and that the spring gets weak in them and then starves the injectors for fuel.Could this cause high egts and low boost?

My edge juice IS OUT AND UNINSTALLED because i was getting high egts. GAUGES ARE ON THE WAY

Low boost and high EGT's would typically be from either a charge air leak ( intercooler boot or blown intercooler --- Is your's plastic!? ) or a dirty/clogged/wet air filter. Those would be the first things I would check. The High Pressure Releif Valve could be bad, but usually comes with other driveablilty concerns besides just the low boost and high egt's. You caould have long cranking, poor starting and poor power with that being bad.

It is under the return line off of the rail. Spring isn't cleanable/adjustable. IIRC it is replaced as an assembly. There are a few threads about "capping" the rail. This is the piece they are referring to . I still don't think it is your problem though. You probably won't be able to "see" the leak. Look over all of your intercooler boots, feel for cracks or loose clamps and maybe even make a charge air leak tester. A piece of PVC capped on one end with an air chuck in the end of it. Regulate the air to 40 - 50 psi and charge the system. Cap the other end as well. Soap all of the fittings and look for the bubbles! Or just listen for the leak too!

You can tap the pressure relief valve and put a 1\8 pipe plug in it. I keep a plug, tap and wrench in the glove box so a I can get home if she blows. What kind of rail pressure did you have when the scan tool was hooked to it? I thought when guys have a leaking relief valve you will set codes for low rail pressure, hard starting, wont idle etc.

WOW
6000-70,000 ? That is amazing. You might just have a problem.
Any psi over 56,580 is dangerous I hear?

Dont be silly

It is 56,580 at sea level. You add 1k PSI for every 100ft with a +or- factor of 876psi with the winter blend.

YOU should check your facts!!!

Just for the heck of it, have you checked out the engine position sensor? I thought I remembered you got the truck used. Maybe someone was messing around with the tone ring or you have corrosion in the connector. Everything you check seems right on. I wonder if the injection is retarding itself causing your high EGT's. Maybe someone put in a aftermarket sensor like one of those rokktech sensors and it is causing a fit. I had a fuel economy issue with my truck about 6 months ago. When I got my truck in 06, it had a issue with the fan clutch and I took it in to get if fixed. The mechanic there took a test light and poked holes in every wire within 1 ft. of the fan I found one of the wires to my crank sensor had about corroded in half. It was causing some erratic stuff and never a CEL.

I do know this..... when you get into it as far as you are, it is going to be some minor oversite that caused the whole thing. Speaking of that.... how are your battery connections and grounds? I like to go back to step 1 before I start dropping cash on parts.

now that i think of it. i had a remote starter installed and they were messing around with it forever. i brought it back like 6 times before i got them to remove it and give me my money back. they said something about a engine position sensor on the back of the engine that was hard to get at. they said it took the starter technician a while to bypass it or tap into it etc...Maybe this is my whole reason for high egts? wouldnt it throw a code

and yes im SERIOUSLY getting gauges im just deciding which ones.

lol. they arent here yet. im still deciding on what to get. issopro or autometer phantom or phantom 2 or ultra lite?

But in mean time i had just thought of this sensor thing. The shop that screwed with my remote starter said they tapped into my crank sender. wher eis it? id like to see what they did and if they fixed it back to the way it is. maybe they put a cheapy in its place.
