I know of a used S&B intake that the guy wants $125 for. Its less than a year old and looks like new.

I don't have any plans for adding power,so I don't know that the intake would benefit me all that much.

Is a CAI worth it on a stock rig?

 

Probably get a touch better throttle response and it will run more "efficiently" but doubt it will do anything drastic for you...

My brother just put on a CAI on his truck...very similiar to your rig, except his is a 2WD short-bed and he said that it pulls his horse-trailer a lil' better on the top-end side of things but nothing drastic. And no mileage gains...

If you did the CAI and some sorta exhaust mods.....probably help out more...

They usually lower EGTs a bit also.

 

You would be better off spending your money on exhaust mods.

 

I am getting ready to list mine in the classifieds this week. I really like it but the turbo whine is just a little more than I want pulling the 5th wheel all the time.

 

As long as it's in good shape, that sounds like a good deal. I really do love mine!

 

YOU WILL LOVE IT. I put a 6.7 S&B on my 5.9 and love it. IMO, its not loud and I feel it is the best intake out their. I have used 4 others, and no other intake has performed better for me. BUY IT!!!
