turbo question

turbo question

Ok i took a gamble and bought a holset hx40 on ebay almost new got a good deal on it the problem with it is the housing with the wastegate is soo much longer that i dont even think i could fab up a new downpipe so i was wondering if i could switch the front halfs with my 35 with the 40 and make it a hybrid?

No, turbine wheels are different sizes. Cartridges will not interchange in the housings.

that`s the way I`ve heard it`s done. put the 40 compressor housing and wheel on the 35 shaft and center bearing assembly,

Source a 16cm wastegated T3 housing for the hx40. Then you'll have a useable turbo.
