boots...I have a BD cooldown timer. It's a good unit...you set it to shut off at a certain EGT, we set mine to 300 deg. It also has feature that once you depress the brake pedal, it shuts the truck off as a safety. I like this because I can shut it off when I want, plus if I leave it on it'll shut the truck off according to temp and not set to time, which is much better since shorter trips require less idling than longer ones.
get a tripple disc converter... heres a rundown of how things work. your tranny has line pressure that is designed to push the clutch plates in your converter together. there are two ways to handle more power without slipping, more clutch plates and/or more line pressure. the stock single converter has 50ish sq inches of clutch surface, and a tripple disc converter has somewhere in the range of 110-130 sq inches of clutch surface, reguardless of the exact numbers more surface = more holding strength. to get more line pressure you have to have someone modify your existing valve body or purchase a new one. more pressure pushing the plates together = more holding power. there is an actuator that engages and disengages the line pressure which you know as "locking" and "unlocking" the converter. my valve body was modified (its really just making tiny holes bigger to increase pressure) but i got a single disc because i wasnt educated on converters at the time so i can slip the converter but it holds ALOT better than a stocker because of the increase in line pressure. ill be doing a tripple disc and billet shafts when funds allow for it. good luck.
