Trans Surge caused by large stereo amps??
ok so a while ago i had the common tranny surge of the torque converter locking and unlocking. so i did a fix that almost all dodge dealerships do and it went away. Now to my point, i have always had an aftermarket stereo sub, amp, etc. Just recently i purchased a new amp and sub that pulls alot more power and produces alot more amps then the old one about 1600 max. i was doin alot of freeway driving this weekend and noticed that the surge had came back. it was only surging when i was listening to music full blast with amp turned up all the way bumping. it would surge over and over about every min or so then i turned my music down and about 20 to 30 secs later it would stop and wouldnt come back (this is all with the cruise on) until i turned my music back up all the way. Has anyone experienced or heard about this happening?
maybe some foil wrapped with electrical tape around the power amp wire will fix this.

I have began to notice that these trucks seem like they have lot's of problems with EMI and auto tranny's.
From Holley fuel pumps pulling to many amps and then large stereo amps causing problems.

my first reaction is .... Turn the Edit music down!!! but that's probably because of all the idiots driving by my house at all hours of the night with those auditory setups that you can feel 4 miles before they get there.....
Subs running that much power CAN draw so much power from the electrical system that other components fail to get the power required.....
Foil tape- waste of time. The whole circuit must be shielded- connectors, wire, etc and the shield has to be electrically connected to be effective.
Ferrite beads on the signal wires to the PCM would be better, but tough to find that large. (the bump in the monitor cable and keyboard cable on your computer is a ferrite bead)
The other thing is to make sure you're amps have capacitors in the power circuit for filtering and to help with the huge draw for the subs. They act as batteries for simple explanation.

i was thinkin a capacitor might help with the draw from the ecectrical system. and my system isnt extremely huge i have one amp and one 12inch woofer so nothing special.
guess i will try a capacitor and if that dosnt work then i will just turn the radio down a bit. alot cheaper of a fix.
but has anyone else experienced this? or am i a first?

I honestly don't know how you can tell your tranny is surging though with a stereo on full blast. I can't hear nothing with my 2 JL 10" subwoofers and MTX thunder 1000W amp. Just my truck rattling.

when i notice that it was surging the other day i turned my music down all the way and it went away and once i cranked it all the way back up it started doin it again. then to confirm it i did this multiple times with the cruise on. this was over about a 20 mile span at around 80 mph....
