Trailer Wheel Weight Ratings
We have a 7 ton gn trailer. The tires are rated for 3042 lbs, and I want to go to the heavier 3500 or 3750 lb tires, but need to know what the rims are rated for. The only markings on the rim are
7 07 00 1606 K CRC
DOT USA T 16x6K
What max weight and pressure are these rated for? Thanks

Steel Rims should be fine provided you get the right width for the tires. If your looking for aluminum rims, Alcoa is the only one that makes the rims rated for the G rated tires and 3750lbs.
If you rig weighs 14K, you most likely have 6K axles. The E rated tires should be fine for the load with the right tire. Michelin XPS Rib would be recommended.

The above link is for the Alcoa wheels.
If you have 6K axles, chances are the Alcoa wheels will not fit correctly since the holes are bigger in the rim and require a larger nut. There are some fixes for that, but I would not want to try them.
