? for those of you w/in bed transfer tanks

found me a 105 gal transfer tank for my truck, got a new pump for it for x-mas. it needs to be painted cuz the tank is used. i was thinkin maybe blue to match the truck, or possibly black... anyway, my question is has anyone painted theirs and how has the paint held up? pics would be nice too. i just cant decide.

If it's a steel tank, bedliner spray would hold up better than paint. JMHO. Mine, from my '98 is aluminum diamond plate (not on the '07 yet) so, I left as is.

I had a tank in the back of my 01 that I had powdercoated white to match the truck... worst mistake I ever made. Go with a dark flat color. Anything glossy will really show were the fuel seeps from some fittings and drips from a nozzle. I was cleaning my tank every few days.

I may have to give the bedliner spray another look. i had considered that at first, but thought maybe i would have too much black.

I did the same thing and being I live where the air is alty it has little rust spots where the diamond things are and I secend the whole fuel showing on it when you spill it. Also, my previous L shaped tank I had bedlinered; does not shine as nice but last a hell of alot longer. My .02$

I did the Line-x on my aluminum tank. It's aged and looks just like the bed. The only complaint I have is you have to be careful when you fill it and don't over fill it. Any diesel spilled will cause the Line-x to turn loose around the filler tube.

Mine is bed lined. Speedliner. It's fuel resistant. I thought Line X was as well?

Of course when I fill up, I don't try and pour fuel all over to test it out

Man that's a good price I need to see it in your truck to see if it will interfere with the stack!!! It might just have to go anyways... I would also like to know if your gooseneck will still work to as I pull a 18 ft deck and a 32 foot deck around along with the 36 ft camper...

Could make one for less than that. Cost me around $350 to make mine and get it bedlined.
