TC lock up switch questions

I did some looking and found how to add a TC manual lock up switch, I tried searching on hear and finding some more info about it and couldn't find much or I just wasn't using the right key words. Anyway I did find how to do it and I love how it shifts with it, but figured I would ask on here if there were any "don'ts" I should be aware of. I have heard different things from different places, one was not to leave it locked while decelerating, not to leave it locked while shifting, not to lug it down (for reasons other than lugging being hard on the engine). I don't know what is true and what is just rumor, just wanted to be safe rather than sorry, because I do alot of heavy towing.

Thanks
Chris

I have a PacBrake and a stock tranny and use my lock-up switch all the time. There are comcerns about convertor clutch slipping at low tranny line pressures. The only problem I have is if I give it too much throttle locked up in OD, I can slip my locked-up clutch.
I certainly wouldn't shift locked-up while towing heavy!

so if im just driving around empty is it ok to leave the switch on so that it shifts locked up. i thought that that would be better for it, as in the torque converter not spinning and creating heat vs. locked up. i noticed that you can feel the shifts are a bit firmer now.
