Stuck CD

This is the base CD/AM/FM radio. My eject button does nothing. It worked to get my CD out tonight, but when my neice tried to eject the CD she put in (why yes it is rap ) no dice.

It tried to eject the CD, so somethings happening. Will I have to pull the unit or can anyone suggest an easier fix.

Thanks.

Mine did the same thing when it was new...as in the first time I tried using it 9 months later
I kept working at it, trying it and eventually it was ejecting everytime. Haven't used it in awhile...guess I'll have to try it again.
I've heard of others with the same problem and had the unit replaced by the dealer.

I had this happen to me too. It is a common problem with the "RBQ" Radio, or so said the dealer.

They replaced mine just the other day. Once the warranty goes out and the radio/cd player do this again....I will probably replace with an aftermarket one.

Alot of radios will automatically eject the disc when reset, try disconnecting it when it powers back up it may eject on it's own but you'll have to reset the stations either way.

I thought it might and I was going to give it a shot, but it ejected the CD, first try, tonight when I went to bring her home. I had gone out to start the truck and went back in the house with her CD. She was .

It was ~ 30 degrees and I heard the truck idle up after 30 or so seconds. I wasn't sure if mine would do that, but when we went back out, the tach was right @ 1K, so I guess it does.

Get this....she puts another CD in and takes my Steely Dan CD out (which I put in when her stuck CD came out) and puts it on the seat. We get to her house, she ejects her CD (no problems this time), grabs all her stuff and heads in the house. I head down the street and notice MY CD missing. She must have grabbed it by accident when she picked up all her stuff.

Mine did this since day 1. It ate 4 cd's and would not give them back. I took the truck to the dealer, they replaced the whole unit, and have not had a problem since. Surprisingly DC or wherever they sent the warranty unit, sent me back my cd's to my house within 2 weeks!

My cd player did this to me just a couple of days ago. I think it just did it to tell me that my warranty is up, as I just turned over 60,000km when it happened. I just turned the power on and off a few times and it ejected the cd, and has worked fine since.

I have the six disk radio changer. Two months I had the truck, I pressed the eject button and it spit out 2 cd's at one time, kind of odd. Brought it in and got it replaced.

Thanks for all the input, guys. I didn't realize this was such a big problem. (Yea, I know, a handful of guys had this issue out of thousands of rams)

I'll see how it reacts over the next few months. Maybe I'll wait until my warranty is almost up, then I'll bring it in.

To be honest, I haven't even used the 6-CD player yet. Thought about it a few times. I'm always listening to the local sportstalk AM station (For the Sacramento Kings and Oakland Raiders), or on the Sirius satellite. But there is a co-worker here with an 05 3500 and he had the same eject issue. He took it back to the dealer and it was totally swapped out under warranty.

I had a customer come into the shop awhile back complaning her aftermarket CD player ate cd's in her Mitsubishi. We went out and put CD's in and ejected them no problem but she insisted the radio ate hers. We took her radio out to send it for repair and there were her CD's, about 5 of them! She managed to shove them between the radio and the dash boadr instead of into the CD slot.

We all know people like that, don't we.

It IS good to hear dealers have no problems swapping out the units for new ones. Thanks for the info, guys.
