sticky rear brake help!

Well to put it simple my drivers rear brake started dragging the other day, i thought it was the e brake stuck from the cold and wet so i backed up quickly and spiked the brakes a couple of times and it went away, I've put 300Km's on the truck since with no problems until tonight only difference is i haven't used the Parking brake, I tried backing up and spiking it tonight but that didn't work this time could this be a faulty caliper? I took the caliper and pad assembly all apart and cleaned it tonight with a fine wire brush and test drove it everything seemed to work perfect for now,
My question is how do you remove the rear rotor to check the parking brake? I tried and tried but that thing wouldn't move! sorry about the long winded speech but any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks Dave P

Last fall when i had my truck down to the garage they recomended i put brake gaurds on. i guess stones beat off little rubber booties covering some brake components then it causes them to seize up. they didn't cost too much. also got the drive shaft U joints replaced under waranty, had a squeaker so it was time they got replaced

I started having the same issue a few weeks ago! On both rear tires! I was logging on tonight to post my own message asking for help...

Due to the cold weather a few weeks ago (-15 Degrees), I had to have the truck towed home. I had to stomp on the brakes extra hard in order to get the truck on the ramp of the tow truck. The truck was dead and I needed to hold the truck in one place while the truck was lifted on the flat bed. Every since then I have noticed the rear wheels heating up so much that you can't touch them with your hands. I have tried to reset the E Brake several times. Sometimes I have no issues and other times I can smell the heat coming from the brakes when I park. Sometimes it is both rear wheels and sometimes it is just one.

Did the brake guards work for you??? I need help on this one!
