St. Anthony, Idaho - Dunes

Anyone been there to ride? I'm thinking of going in September for a couple days. It's about 370 miles from me, so the trip will be no biggie, but I want to be sure it'll be worth the trip. I rode Moab Utah (slick rock) for 2 days and it was O.K. More of a mountain bike mecca.
Also, anyone know how many paddles I should run on my 02 YZ 250 6 or 8 ?
Thanks Fellas

You might call the guys at EDGE. Last time I was there Aaron was talking about running a rail up there. I dont know if they run 2 wheelers or not but they might be helpful.

Re:St. Anthony, Idaho - Dunes

Went there for the fourth of July and a month or so before then. Got 12 stitches for it (kickstarter through the leg). The sand is really loose, and the dunes are unusally steep. It is ok riding, not as good as Sand Mountain or the Oregon coast. It's only about 250 miles from here, and that is not that bad of a drive. For 400 miles, I would go elsewhere. In the event you do go, I would run an eight paddle. The extra traction is more important than wheel speed IMHO. Nonetheless, if you go make sure you stay on the west end, as the dunes are kind of L shaped. The dunes on the North end are kind of flat and not much fun to ride after a couple of days. The west end is hilly and the hillclimbs are intense. Have fun. LE
