Smarty Sr installed...
Tuned SW#4... I can now free spin what I thought was a healthy clutch at 1/4 pedal in any gear. I knew the DM was a POS, but man! I need to know how much life you think is left in this clutch even if I go back to stock settings. I didn't smoke it, just felt it a couple of times and got out of it before the big "SHAa-WING". Obviously I need a clutch, I just can't do it right away. What one do you recommend? Do I really need a DD? Do I have to run the Hyd. upgrade if I do the DD? Is the DD even streetable? I need some direction here, I need to AT LEAST get an extra 90 horsepower down! I never felt the clutch slip until I loaded the Smarty.
I wanted a FASS or Airdog before I did the clutch.

If your gonna play you are gonna pay...
Don't screw around, just go buy a South Bend 3600 DD. Trust me once you start to make power your not going to want to stop!
good luck to ya,
Topper

Welcome to the smarty world.
If it were me, I'd post another thread asking what kind of clutch you should get, you'll get a lot more responses.
Good luck! Next thing you know, you'll be in the poor house over that thing. When the hp bug bites...

On the clutch... Manzel assures me a 3250 will hold me fine. So we'll see.
Question about Smarty though. With the POD, is it detuning from that particular SW#, say from 99% of level 5 to the bottom of 5, or 99% of level 5 all the way to the bottom of 1; if I detune that far? I haven't really fooled with it that much. My stock clutch was slipping still just a little on level 1, so I put the stock program back in till the SB gets here.

The 3250 is in. Wow, what a clutch. Nice rattle at idle, slight increase in pedal pressure even with hyd. upgrade, not too bad. It's great to finally put the power down. I love it.

Glad you got that clutch. Get some fuel upgrades and then see what it feels like. Oh, yeah, time for a turbo too. And some injectors. And some...
Enjoy that thing, man.

The way the Smarty POD works is it's a precentage of the total power. Say you have it set to level 5 (100hp est) so the total output would be around say 380hp at the rear wheels at 100%. At 50% the rear wheel power would be half that, around 190 hp. So about 75% would be the stock power level.
