I have a new SBC and now the pedal seems different. It has to be almost completely on the floor for the clutch to disengage. Is there an adjustment for the pedal on the truck?

 

Your Hydraulic clutch master or slave cylinders are not healthy.

Have you replaced your clutch hydraulics rescently?

There are no adjustments.

The Clutch hydraulics are a common failure item.

Peter @ SBC should have something available for cheaper than what the dealer has. It's about $300 at the dealer for the hydraulics.

i just replaced mine last weekend and it cost $200.66 from the dealer.

 

Buy them from EEP complete for around 130.
Now thats cheap.

 

what clutch do you have? I know with some of the higher plate load clutches he is changeing the pivot point on the fingers. this makes it a lot easyer to push in the clutch but it also makes the throw on the pedel longer. Also how many miles do you have on the clutch? sometimes it takes a while for the springs to settle. My first clutch took about 500 miles for the pedel to come back up.

I probably have 800-1000 miles on it now. It seems to have a long "throw". The travel from the time you start to feel the clutch engage to the point at which it's fully engaged is longer than the stock clutch.
Hope that makes sense.

 

If that's 800-1000 stop and go miles, I'd be calling Peter to ask where to buy the 94-97 master/slave cyinder assembly. The 98+ trucks have a weaker unit in them.

Mine wasn't broken in until 1500 miles since the first 800 was a road trip. The second time it took about 500 to break it in, city stop and go.
