Ride Height?

I have a quick question about ride heights. I have been looking to buy a Ram for a long time now and have found yet another potential candidate. The truck in question is a 01 2wd that has normal sized tires but the whole truck seams to sit lower to the ground (less space between the top of the tire and the wheel well). Is this simply because its a 2wd and most of the other trucks I have seen are 4wd? Could you actually order a truck from the factory with a lower ride height?
I must admit the deal sounds descent 160 kms SLT with leather for 18000$ Cdn. but I would like a higher ride height.

Thanks

2wd sit lower. Especially in front. Get better MPG too. Even a dually with 4.10 gears

mine stands taller than a Chebby ½ ton 4x4 and about equal to a ¾ ton.
I've got the fiberglas package that makes it look lower, too.

Thanks for the replies.

I think I might pass on this one.. it sounds like a good deal on a good truck but I kinda like the higher up feeling. My service truck is a ecnoline and I feel uncomfortable driving lower vehicles.

My 01 2wd sits the same ht as a new 4x4 chevy i run 265/75/r16s and sit plenty tall. I even site taller than a stock 4x4 chevy 1ton HD so you might see if the truck you are looking was lowered somehow. lower springs and removed the factory blocks.

I had a 2000 2500 4x4 and now the 98.5 2x4 and the front on the 98.5 does sit low. The 4x4 felt level and the 2x4 sit low up front, so the overall truck feels low. The front end is lower than my G20 Chevy ¾ van for sure. One thing I did (don’t know if it’s good for the suspension), was to increase the front tire PSI equal to the rear. I believe the door calls for 50 psi up front and 80 psi back on the 2x4. I’m running 80 up front and the truck seems to ride more solid and up a bit. Again I don’t know if this is bad for the 2x4, but you could check that out. Also, check the guy’s springs and shocks. I know from MX, springs mean everything and I wonder if the 2x4 is just under sprung for the Cummins weight. Plus if the truck has 160k or so the shocks could have seen better days.
