I've read a few of the old threads about retiming and checked out the procedure link that was posted. I don't have the specialty tools that it requires (dial gauge, barring tool, special socket) Everything else I have. Does anyone know what the total price for these tools would be? I'm guessing it's going to be a little steep as most precision gauges are pricey. However, if the gauge has some uses for other things it might be worth it.
To this end, I emailed the local Scheid shop here in Lafayette about whether or not they were willing to retime a pump on a street vehicle but haven't heard back from them yet. So, is there anyone in the Northern Indiana area that does this? I'm located in West Lafayette (Go Boilers!) but would be willing to travel a ways if I can't find anyone local to do this (although not REAL far on this lovely $1.81 diesel) Thanks

 

Scheid and Haisley are both in Indiana. EE is over here in Ohio. BMD is down in KY. Might want to call instead of email if you need to hear back quickly. All the shops tend to answer email rather slowly...

I called Scheid on the phone because they do indeed answer email slowly,ha. They said they were willing to do it and estimated $110 or so. This seem reasonable?
