His truck:

2005 3500
TWO WHEEL DRIVE - STICK SHIFT - STOCK CLUTCH - FACTORY TIRES
TST/EZ, SP66, FASS, air aid and straight pipe.

He claims to have run 14.2s and one 13.2. And killed a 600hp Corvette that got him out of the hole, but he reeled him in in 6th gear

Oh, and he runs 100+ mph in the 1/8th mile...

Hmm, let me see. I have a stock 2wd 2500 6spd. Top speed (tac limited 3,100 rpm) is a smidge over 90 mph. I'd like to know where he got the other 10 mph. As far as I know there is nothing higher offered than the stock 3.73. If it was an auto, maybe. Stick, no way. As far as the Q-mile time, I think a member of this site has figured out how to launch and row the gears quick enough for a sub 13 second run.

True, but that member with a sub 13 second run has 4x4, twins, nitrous and an aftermarket clutch.

Maybe I would believe low 14's with a super-light 2500 with a perfect driver and no intentions of keeping the clutch for long.

Or maybe with a lot NO2 or H2O that he isn't talking about and very little care for his headgasket.

It's pretty amazing what common rail trucks can do with stacked boxes. Still, I don't think that's enough for low 14's or 100 MPH at the eigth. I would love to see it, but my highly-attuned armchair reckoning would say mid to low 15's for the quarter at the best. (Then again, my armchair reckoning isn't what it used to be...)

His funny numbers might not be all his fault, though. If he's smoking out the lights at the strip, which is possible with stacked boxes and 20 PSI launches, that could subtract 1 to 2 seconds from his quarter mile time right there. With stock tires and driveline, I'd say that 100 MPH at 1/8 mile is pretty far fetched, though.

Please tell me I'm wrong. I don't know nothing about these silicon-filled engines...

He claims 100mph in the 1/8th not the 1/4 lol... he said he ran out of RPMs in 6th at the 1/8 mile mark. That would equate to mid 6s in the 1/8th and about 10s in the 1/4 if he had another couple of gears

Oops, I made a typo. I don't know much about gearing on the newer trucks, but he said he was launching in 4 lo/ 6th gear at 20 PSI with stock clutch and tires and around 500 HP. If on the wild chance he could get a hook-up, he'd probably get some really good time. (I don't armchair race 1/8miles, but 100 mph sounds very far fetched. What would be standard for a 500 HP truck with a driveline that could match? )

But I think the escape speed he claims in the 1/8 is irrevelant. The outlandish claim in my book is that he could do that hard of a power launch. Wouldn't 500 HP at 20 PSI turn a stock driveline into spaghetti?

What kind of goomah puts $2,500 into his engine and not a single cent into his driveline anyways?

He doesn't even have 4WD or 4LOW, its a 2wd truck.

I just wanted to post this because there's a lot of guys over on DTW agreeing with him, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy and this guy was actually telling the truth.

It's a 2wd truck? With a stock drive line, stock tires, 500 HP, 20 PSI launch. Must be a dually, right?

Now I have no doubt he'll get to 100 at the end of the 1/4. If he can lock it up, drive it exceedingly well, and he keeps the weight down, and his stock clutch (!) is brand new, I wouldn't be surprised to see high 14's. (Maybe 110-ish?)

But no way in heck 100 MPH at the end of an 1/8. And that "if" up there in italics, bold and underlined is a very big "if". I wouldn't tend to think 500 HP@20PSI on anything but the freshest stock drive line would last for over 100 feet before becoming intimately acquainted with the asphalt at a very rapid velocity.

But his 1/4 mile times aren't too far fetched, especially if he isn't accounting for smoke issues.

Anyways, I hate pretending to be an expert on these things, so I'll just zip it until the veterens show up.

I run 14.66 with only a quad race box and 4x4.

New paper plated 06 corvettes run 12.2 without 600hp.

2wd drive trucks would have to run slicks to keep up and be bombed to beat all comers.

6th gear launch 4 low??? = No clutch I don't care who makes it!!

I think his friend was playing with him if it even occured at all. The new ZO6s are running 11s and one guy hit 10.85 at 129 mph with drag radials. And he has dyno numbers. 469hp and 439 foot pounds. He also claims to be getting 27 mpg.

HEY BEGLE'S BACK!

my sps62 smoked my factory clutch with my quad race in 5th gear. NO WAY is that guy running a 66 and tst on a stock clutch catching someone in 6th gear, that clutch would be boiling on the flywheel way before then. BALONEY

i don't totally call BS on his story (I'm on that other site too)

Street race barely longer than an eighth mile.....he says it was a traction contest....which he may have gotten better traction...who knows....maybe, i won't rule it out completely.....

He claims to be maxxed out in the 1/8 mile at 102 mph....thats BS He claimed to do that at Ennis, a track I have run myself. I was doing 95 at the end of the 1/4 running a 14.3 (Juice/EZ stack)

I live in the souther DFW area and will hopefully meet him sometime.....

then report back

102 in the 1/8th mile?! In kilometers maybe. What a load, he might as well say he runs 200mph in the 1/8th.
