I was wondering if it is possible to buy a used programmer? I know that on mustangs once the programmer is used, it locks the program so you can't just get one kit and plug in 100 cars. Are they like that for our trucks as well? Would be pretty nice to hookup a used programer and reset my speedo and add a little juice for less then buying new if you can.

Usually they are locked to ONE vehicle at a time. To use it on a 2nd truck you must uninstall it and go back to stock on the 1st truck.

Is there a way to check this so you don't buy one off the internet and it is already used?

Not really, you will just be taken the other person's word that they put there truck back to stock before selling you the programmer.
