I have test drove a few dodge diesels over the years and the automatics that I drove, when you put them in gear, you had to really jam your foot in the brakes to keep them from taking off. I remember when I put it in drive, if I didn't have enough pressure on the brake pedal the brakes would groan and the truck would inch forward a little. The torque converter must be really tight in the new ones or low stall or something.
So I thought when my transmission was rebuilt I would have the same result since they replaced the TC, kind of like new. Not so. It just doesn't act like it has that tightness like it is trying to break loose and GO as soon as you put it in gear. What could be my trouble? Could the TC not have been replaced after all?

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone here... my experience is EXACTLY the opposite. Stock was mush... Goerend converter is TIGHT...
I have a driveway that inclines as you go further toward my garage. I used to have to give her the throttle to back my truck up. When I did my trans/converter, I almost wrecked because I didn't need the throttle to back up the hill.... just had to release the brake...
