Power Mods
I just bought a few things for my truck in the signature, a PXRB Pacbrake, a Quadzilla Commander (guages) and a set of air bags for the rear. I was looking at getting a mild power box. I was thinking about a Smarty, but I would like to have some on the fly adjustability (just my nature, wanna play with stuff). I looked at the Quadzilla XZT and the XZillaraider (in both versions). I mainly use my truck for commuting to work, and pulling my Jeep and Toy Hauler. Nothing really crazy, I don't race, or have plans to. I would like to get some more mileage, but wouldn't care if I didn't gain any (get 19-20 pretty regularly). The XZT seems pretty inexpensive and with the Commander I would be able to use o-20-40-60HP modes. The Xzillaraider is a nice box too and wold gladdly spend the money if it would be a good towing box also, and the race version has power up to 140HP. I also plan on getting the Cool Blue Hose, and DPP air intake. Any information on any of these would be greatly appreciated. Scotty
the smarty is not considered a mild power box, unless used at the lower settings. get booth the smarty and quad. smarty for big power, and the quad for adjustability. that's what i use.

Just need one of them really, I imagine a mild box would be fine (60HP), but it would be cool to have something that is a (100-140Hp) to have on tap if I wanted to mess with my Ford driving buddies. IF the quad is a good box I would just roll with that. Just wondering if there are any known problems associated with quadzilla products? Seem like they have good stuff. Scotty
I have the commander + XZillaraider. I love the adjust ability. I use the 30hp setting in rush hour or extreme stop & go. For the most part I use the 60hp setting for normally driving & towing. I use the 100hp setting on the freeway. The XZillaraider has got me about 2mpg more than what I was getting before. But I don't baby the truck either. I've been able to get as high as 23mpg all freeway & empty a couple of times before I even had 18,000 on the truck.
The nice thing with the command you don't need the switch that the XZillaraider comes with.

That is exactly what I was looking for. I don't really want the race version and seems like I would spend most of its time in the 30-60HP range. How are EGT's in the 60HP setting? Manageable? Sounds like quad puts out good power and doesn't seem like to many of you all are having troubles with them. Don't want to hurt the truck and like the commander, so it only seems like the XZillaraider would work great with it. Scotty
I've never had any EGT issue. Empty I bearly get to 1300* on the 100hp setting. Cruzing at 75mpg I'm at 6-700*. But remember I have intake, exhaust, & rotteck (2degrees of timing advance) added to my truck to keep the EGTs down low.
