P7100 ID Questions

Being new to this site maybe I just haven't found the right post yet - I've been trying to identify a P7100 that I recently aqcuired.

The part # on the side of the pump is 0 402 736 867

So this doesn't match any of the applications I found here:

http://chathamfuel.on.ca/generic.asp...0Cummins%205.9

Is there a larger list that might identify this pump?

The part # on the governor tag reads:

RQV400...1150PA1172K

The translation is:
R = Governor
Q = Transverse spring
V = Variable speed governor
400 = Rated minimum speed (idling speed = 1/2 engine speed, engine idle 800RPM) ... = controlled range 1150 = Rated maximum speed (= 1/2 engine speed, engine max speed = 2300RPM)
P = P series pump designation
A = Modification letter
117 = Type code
2 = Suffix
K = Torque matching by characteristic.

Not that I understand all of that, but info I got from this book:

http://www.bentleypublishers.com/product.htm?code=h011

Unfortunately that book doesn't decode the part # on the side of the pump.

Any help would be appreciated

Last three numbers go like this: 160hp(838), 175hp(841), and 180hp(885)
Don't know what the 867 is

left side mount as you sit in the driver's seat.

I probably should have included the full part # that is on the side of the pump in the original post, here they are:

908
PES6P120A120RS7350
0 402 736 867
76822 15547

Maybe that will help nail down what this is?
Thanks for the replies so far!

Let me take a look tonight. I haven't had one of these apart yet so I'm assuming that I'm looking for a 121 stamped into the DV as the part # or last few digits of the part # - correct?

The other concern is that I may not be able to return it if it's obvious I took it apart.

Thanks for the help so far.

Yep...if they are 121's its a safe bet you have a 8.3 Automotive 275 horse. You will need a splined socket to get to the DV.......take it apart and put it back together no one will ever know

The thought had crossed my mind but the CJ-8 is getting a caddy500 V8 which I think will be a decent powerplant for it. That plan is on hold while I'm working on a p-pump conversion for my '01 2500.

Unfortunately, I don't have a socket to take a look at the DV. I'll see about getting one from PDR tomorrow.
The story on this is that I ordered a 0 402 736 913, and this showed up. I've left phone messages, emails asking (politely) the seller what going on and no response thusfar...
I guess I'm wondering now whether I've got some mix of parts in this pump - but don't know enough about it yet to know what I'm working with.

Setting aside the fact that what I ordered isn't what showed up I have these questions:

If it really is from an 8.3 are you aware of what differences there are between this pump and the 913?
Any reasons this pump would not work for my purposes?
Will it simply supply too much fuel given the original application is an 8.3L engine?

any advice is greatly appreciated

500 caddy huh......I have a YJ with a 455 Poncho its a death trap. Now back to pumps, I have a 8.3 pump on my 94 and it puts out more fuel than I can use, its a 250 hp (837) pump. As for the pump you have, Its really hard to say,maybe the guy built it to a 215 spec outta stuff he had around....I dont know. I think the smart thing to do is to have it put on a bench and see where its at.

I did get a voicemail from the seller today and he stated that their shop routinely uses the 867 to rebuild to 913 specs. Since I don't have my '01 apart yet I think that's good advice on having the pump tested while I'm still collecting parts.

On your 837 have you done any mods (GSK, etc...) to it or just running it as it came off the 8.3L?
