Odd Noise looking for some insight
I took the truck in for a leaking CP3 & turbo grinding noise. Well both got replaced. Well the grinding noise is still there. I was hoping that someone with more BOMBing knowledge could help me figure it out.
I heard the noise with the Quad unit on the 60Hp setting. But it's still there when its on the Mileage tune of the X2. It's not as load on the Mileage tune but still there.
The strange part is that the noise sounds like a die grinder on a hollow aluminum housing. It's not constant or all of the time. I hear it mostly when I'm idling at a stop light. It's usually come on quickly & leaves just as quick.
It does not sound like a "gas ping". As a said, it's more of a grinding noise that is doesn't occur very often.
Since I'm not familar with the noise generated by too much timing, (possibly caused why the rokktech + Quad), caused by to much injector advance, I was hoping that one of you more experience BOMBers could clue me in.
Thanks for the help & sorry about the long post.

I would check all the exhaust bolts on manifold. They have habit of backing off and causing the metal gastket to vibrate. Usually number 6 cylinder.
