How much HP?

my brother in law has a 01 3500 dualie, hes got the ADD boost fooler, and I put in a set of bosch 300 injectors, so an extra 40-60 hp from them, and I got my hands on a chip for it from a guy at work, not sure what chip it is cause I dont have it yet, but I think its about a 60 hp, his tranny is completly stock except we turned his line pressure up a bit. Is this combo going to be too much for the stock tranny? no problems so far with the injectors, he hasnt got money for an overhaul or vb and tc, so let me know what you guys think.

my .002 worth of info. as long as he doesn't go crazy hammering the go pedal he should be ok for awhile. donot try pulling heavy 12k+ with everything turned up , he will break things ie input shaft, tc will probably be first to go.

Too much... Yes. 60 hp is about all the stocker can take!

Depends on how much pressure you are at. Put some gauges on it and see where it is at. Increased pressure will not help with the high stall, but it will make the clutches hold the higher horsepower. It would be a good idea to lift your foot on the converter lockup. It will have a hard time slowing the engine 1000 rpm when it locks and lifting will prolong the life of the converter clutch.

ok

Ok, I would like the pressure to be a bit lower than mine, his tranny guts are stock. Im running about 125psi and lockup is really hard, but thats with a triple, my single did not lock near as hard as this one does. Plus I dont know how a stock tranny would like 125psi, maybe around 110-115 should be good? He cant afford an overhaul or TC so I woule like to get the pressure to a high yet safe level for the etra 120HP or so.
