MindBlower Performance

Okay I did a search for this here and could't find anything. I just saw an ebay acution for a module made by Mindblower Performance. They were claiming 100HP and 190ft lbs torque. Don't know if that was BHP of RWHP. Either way that is a big claim for a two wire module with a buy it now price of $45.00. Is this a joke?

If you can't find any info about the company, that might be a sign. That power claim does seem pretty high for only 45$, even if that is true.

Found a little more info. Sounds like it is a resistor that fools the ECM into thinking the inlet air temp is cooler (or hotter?) than it really is. Sounds stupid to me in theory. The whole idea of the IAT sensor is that the ECM can make minor adjustments to the air fuel ratio to keep where it needs to be for optimum fuel economy anyway.

This reminds me of the $49.95 turbocharger kit you could buy on e-bay a few years back. Universal, fit any vehicle, but especially recommended for diesels with intercoolers.

Giveaway was the plastic housing - the thing was based on a paint-dryer fan.
