Just wondering about the max RPMs I can go with my 97 250. Was comming back from Mexico, and was passing a line of cars where I shouldn't hsve been passing. I was doing 45 when I got on it, and punched the OD lock-out. When I hit the button again, I was doing 3800 RPMs. What is the max you can rev these motors?

 

I wouldnt go much over 3800 on stock valvetrain, does your pump have a 3k or 4k rpm kit I cant amagine it reving that high with stock governors springs.

 

You know, I really don't know just what has been done with the motor. The truck was a demo truck for a Dr Performance dealer. I do know it has a larger turbo, 5" exhaust, different pump and injectors, and valve springs. It usually quits at about 3300 to 3400 RPMs, but under the right conditions, it seems to riv up a little more. I wanted to find out what all it had, and so took it to the local Dodge dealer in Carson City Nevada; real joke. Never told me anything, and charged me 85 bucks. Anyone know a mechanic in my area?
