Manage my egt's!
Manage my egt's!
I really want to be able to keep my egt's in check and am wondering what I need to do in order to keep them in control. I have a #100 fuel plate slid all the way forward, 75 hp injectors and a modified afc. I also have a 3 piece pulse manifold and recently put a 62 mm compressor wheel on with a 16 cm exhaust housing. The timing is set to 15.5*. I run 35-40lbs of boost. Do I need to tinker with the pump or what gives? It is fairly easy to hit 12-1300*. Would a 14cm. exhaust housing help or are these mods too much for the turbo? Maybe my pyro is screwy?
thanks for your help

What kind of 62/16 is it? Higher timing will bring your EGT's down, maybe try tuning the AFC more. I have mine set to where until the turbo is really spooling hard it is just a thick haze of smoke but then dumps the fuel hard once going strong...
IMO you simply have way more fuel than you could use.
Your stock 215 injectors could supply more fuel than you would want with a single.
Changing your plate to one with a little upstairs defueling will help with your temps also. Even with my twins when I tow heavy I can't run a plate without any upstairs defueling of I cant keep the temps down on the big hills.

Yes pulling the plate back will help but that profile will still be toasty in the higher rpms. If your not towing heavy it will probably be enough but if you need to work it hard you will probably need to have a profile with some higher rpm de-fueling.
