How loud is your Air Dog 150?
I installed my Air Dog 150 and HDR/CBrah's canister kit about two months ago. I was having issues w/ excessive noise and after going through everything several times (including dropping the tank twice) I replaced the pump under warranty. After installing the new pump, it is quieter and the tone has changed (old gerotor was rubbing on the housing) but still seems pretty noisy, like it's sucking in air from somewhere. I've gone through everything from the pump to the bottom of the canister three times now and the only thing that hasn't been checked or swapped out is the actual fittings.
As for the noise level, I can hear it w/ the windows up at a stoplight and when crawling along on a 4wd trail.
Any suggestions? If others' are just as loud I will feel a lot better. I just hate installing something and it not working as good as I had hoped (my life's story).
Also, Toby and Ron at Pureflow are awesome guys to deal w/ so many thanks to them!

Mine is not loud at all. I can't remember exactly what it says, but in the installation manual, it says something about excessive noise, something about the pump sucking air.

Oh yeah, that's the other thing. If I crack open the drain on the separator, it shuts right up.
And, it's still noisy even when I have the tank fill the fuel tank to the very top. So, I kind of figure that it isn't a leak in anything inside the tank.
Anyone use teflon tape or pipe dope on the fittings?

Mine was terrible loud at first, but that was because something was wrong internally with the unit. The replacement airdog sent me is extremely quiet and I do not notice it. I did use teflon tape on the fittings though. I would redo your fittings with teflon tape/dope before you troubleshoot anymore.

Yeah, after the replacement, the noise is a lot different now.
As far as I can tell, the fuel separator is on the suction side which would make sense that the pump would get MUCH quieter when I crack open the drain.
Yes I do have a fuel pressure gauge w/ my Quadzilla Commander but the sending unit went out when I switched it over when installing my pump (3rd one). And, I have to send them in the entire Commander, old sending unit and some $ so I can get the new and improved transducer. Being that my EGTs run very hot I'm waiting til elk season is over and I'm not driving all over the mountains before I send it in.

I was thinking that if the water sep was in the suction side and you opened the drain that it would want to suck air and get louder instead of making less noise. This interests me because I think that mine is getting louder.

After talking w/ the folks at Pureflow they said that all fuel won't make noise and a lot of air (enough to significantly drop the pressure) won't make noise either. However, if there is a slight leak then it can make the pump noisy.
