I just did a detroit in mine. Its a little vilent sometimes but i got used to it and dont really know its there any more. It will make your tires chirp and hop on slow corners but nice at higher speeds. Any posi will be nasty on ice or wet roads, but the detroit is manageable.

if they make a detroit ture track for a d70 or bigger id go with that it isint a true locker but i have one in the front of my blazer in a dana 44 and hits hard. the true track is torque sensitive and is a worm gear type i have been happy with it basically a limmited slip with good solid lock up darn near a locker

If you've got the money, ARB. Locked when you want, open when you want. Best of both worlds.

If you want a true locker, then for your dually application I would absolutely recommend the Detroit. It is, by far (IMO), the strongest locker available. Unless you can find a spool for the D80, but that would probably get downright ugly, real fast! If you don't want a locker, due to the hard lock and unlock of the Detroit, then I would suggest the Power Lock limited slip which is manufactured by the Dana Spicer corp. It is a great limited slip, probably one of the best out there. The fact that you can stack the clutches to get the firmness is really nice. I have had them set up where they were just as tight as a locker. If you decide for the Power Lock, look for a unit designed for a D70 HD. Same ring gear diameter. Just take it to a compitent machine shop with experience in ring & pinions and they will machine out the bolt holes for the bigger bolts that are used in the D80.

If Ox still makes a locker for the D80 it would be my first choice. The Detroit is a great locker, but the Ox is nice because its lockable/unlockable with a cable. The ARB is nice for the same reason, but you don't have to worry about wiring for the compressor, or air lines running throughout the truck. Pull a cable and go...thats it.
