just call me stoooooopid

after following this board since getting my cummins, i have seen alot of guys listing a bhaf air filter on their truck. i googled and googled for the manufacturer bhaf...........finally went to vulcan diesel and there it was in big bold letters. i felt like such a bonehead......needless to say, i was at my buddies shop today and was servicing a cat loader when i went to get a filter for it - i decided to did some looking around and found a filter that fit my cummins perfectly. it even had a hard rubber flange on the end that fit the turbo hose perfectly. well....needless to say, the cat had to wait and i pulled my truck in and took out the factory box and filter and set the bhaf in place and hooked it up, i couldn't have designed it better. it fit perfectly where the old airbox was, the new filter is a baldwin pa2820. so now... i have a bhaf on my truck also. you guys that have them, did you notice any changes in your trucks with this bigger filter. on another note- i lost a lot of respect for k&n filters today also. in tuning my buddies v-10 f350 4x4, i took the k&n filter out to clean and reoil and when i washed off the soap i found almost all of the cotton filter material was gone . over 90%of the filter was nothing more than a wire cage. this filter was 4 years old and had 220k miles on it. i thought k&n advertised that they were good for 1,000,000 miles. really surprised to see that.

BHAFs are made by a lot of companies since it is not a brand name.

fleetfilter.com is the place (cheapest) to get the BHAF.

Throw an outerwears on there and you are in business.

NAPA sells them at $80 or something like that... thats a bit rediculous... but if you can find the filter in the $30 to $40 range is a great filter.
