My brother in law called me the other day to let me know the company he works for has to pay someone to haul away approx 1200 gallons of Jet A Fuel a week. They let their employees fill up for free and are now spreading the word to get a few more people in there to fill up or take the fuel away. They get charged approx 2.50 a gallon to dispose of it. So it saves them close to 3k a week. It is clean fuel. Stored in spotlessly clean tanks. They use it to test fire the engines and planes they build. They are not allowed to reuse it something about some faa regulation.

In any case if I can utilize this fuel I just may. I know that "jet a" is very close to kersosene. Lower btus and lower lubricity. Not sure I care about the lower btu's as it will be free and if my mileage suffers it wont really matter. However the lubricity is another story. I know that dry stuff is going to hurt my vp44 at some point down the road. Is just adding a lubricity additive going to do enough? Should I use straight oil instead?

Give me your thoughts.

Good find , I do not know what ratio's to mix , but using 2 cycle oil , Hyd. oil , is common , also bio-diesel , there was a test floating around a while back showing that bio-diesel was a better lube additive than about 20 other common additives .

I would mix it. Jet A is very dry fuel.
Either 50% pump diesel.......or add 10% pure Bio diesel. 2 qts of 2-cycle oil per tankful would work also....... but that would be my last choice, due to test results mention above.

Like RJ mentioned, 1 qt of TCW3 for every 10 gallons of Jet-A.

Just don't use Jet-A in a emissions equipped diesel (6.7L). Jet-A has a really high sulphur content, up to 3000 ppm.
