Was not on mine when purchased either. The underhood light is part of a special LIGHT package, I think the package has underhood, ash tray, vanity and glove box lights and maybe some others. I have bought the OEM parts and installed the underhood light and ash tray/cup holder light.

Ordered it from www.dodgeparts.com OEM catalog. I will have to search for the part numbers, one for the light and one for the wiring harness. Hard to locate on the site without the part numbers.

Would you still have those part numbers around?

I was looking at mine and it looks like there is a plug for the underhood light right there at the firewall. If someone with the light could look and see it would be nice

I think any SLT or above package have the connector on a wiring harness running along the top of the firewall on the passenger side.

I will have to look for the part numbers. I am pretty sure I posted them on this site, but it was a while back.

If I get time I will take picture of the connector and light assembly.

You know that is crazy. You pay that much for a truck, they least ought to have a dang light under the hood. What do yall think?

There have been a number of threads about the same thing and the consensus is Dodge is getting pretty CHEAP!

Why not get something that will put out some useful light. The factory light is barely worth having...IMO.
Try these from DTR advertiser LazerSmith!

Well, putting something like that under the hood is like admitting that you are going to need them! I'm not ready to admit that my truck will break down!!

I totally agree. I noticed it missing when buying the truck and thought it was a little weird. Its not like I wasn't going to buy the truck because it was missing the light. I think that skimping on a hood light is pretty weak but then again it can be viewed as weak or utter confidence on Dodges' part.

Hood light? We dont need no stinking hood light. Those are for vehicles that will have issues...

Knocking on wood!
