Local machine shop built mine. I went in to buy the steel to build one and he had one 3/4s done he said I could have for $50. Cost less than just buyin the steel. Angle iron bottom rails, 1x2 rectangular tubing frame, & expanded metal to fill it in.

sounds just like mine. I also added some led taillights and some clear lights on a switch. originaly built for my 1st gen, fit like a glove and color matched to my 2nd gen, out of pure dumb luck.
if it were light outside, i'd get some pics.

I built one out of 2x4 tube, 2x2 tube, 1x1 tube and expanded metal(bought at local scrap yard for .25 cents/lb) Measured the angle on the side of the cab of the truck(think it was 19 degrees--2002 model) figured out the height I wanted, cut it out on the bandsaw, laid it out and welded it up. Bought two hole saws to cut out for the 2" LED rounds and then the 6" ovals. Ran wires through tube. Painted gloss black with some tractor/implement enamel and mounted to truck.
IM me your email address and I'll see if I can find pictures on this computer to send. Dont feel like waiting to load up on here, takes to long, approval and all that biz. Check my album, there may be one in there but not sure at this moment.
