gauge illumination

just installed gauges (dash mounted). i looked at the thumb wheel that controls the dash brightness but couldn't figure which one to tap into.
can someone please help me? thanks in advance

Yeah. I pulled the panel off on the side of the dash, gives you easier access to the wires instead of laying on your back. There are two orange wires with brown traces. I pierced the wire with a test light, turned the head lights on, and turned the dimmer switch down. If you have the correct wire, your test light will dim with the switch.

The easiest way is just to use an add-a-circuit in you dash light fuse slot. Then you don't have to tap anything. Your gauge lights will dim with your dash lights.

Pop the cover on the side of the dash. It should say which is the dash light fuse on the diagram inside the cover.
