Fuel Plates for 97 12V
Fuel Plates for 97 12V
I have a 1997 12 valve with banks power pac fuel plate. I was wondering if a #10 plate would make a differance. I have K&N air box, Banks big head turbo, 5" exaust, AFC all the way foward, and built auto tranny. Boost runs 36psi and EGT's 1200deg at full go pedal. Got lots of smoke but always want alittle more power.
If your just running a #10 then I think your auto will hold it, especially since you say its been "built" a little. Now if you were to throw some injectors in there also I'd start to worry
Still you may want to call TST and see what they recommend I believe the 10 is a manual tranny plate?
Also you may want to look into a Governor Spring Kit as well so you get full fueling throughout the RPM band.

I would like to know what torque plate the banks power pack torque plate matches best and maybe go up one more. I like to play with the FORD powerless strokes. I plan on putting a 3000 GSK in soon. I think mine starts defuelling at about 2100rpm's now. In park it only will turn 2400rpm's. I have a Pro torque converter, BD valve body, and upped line pressures.
I guess I will call Banks and TST to get more info. I don't think they like to work together. I started with the complete Banks Stinger Plus kit and upgraded to the Power Pac torque plate before I new about TST. The truck runs great and will turn over the tires pretty easy but I still want too play with the Chevy's and Ford's at stop lights. They keep steping up and its getting tough for an old Dog that started out with 180hp and 420fp. torque.

take jims advise the #10 was the best change i made smoother torque curve more versitile, eaiser to control while still pushing the same kind of power. BTW dont waste your time trying to negotiate with banks theyll tell you anything to make thier products sound equivilent or better than to others on the market but dollar for dollar and technology wise they have fallen out of the bombed cummins field.
good luck
