front dana 60 wheel bearings
When replacing the front wheel bearings on a front dana 60, is there any tricks to removing the spindle collar locknuts and washer in the hub? Is there a special tool made for this purpose?
Thanks,

No. Just the appropriate large size socket, sorry, don't remember the size offhand.
Sometimes you need a breaker bar with a cheater pipe but I've usually been able to break them loose with an air impact.
If the truck has hub caps that allow you to get at the nut without removing the wheel break the nut loose before jacking the truck to keep the hub from turning.

If the washers are rusted to the stub axle, and you have removed the nut, go to a gun shop and pick up a small can of Kroil (the penetrating lube used on machine guns) and give the stubs a shot of lube and let them set a couple of hours. Then wrap a heavy tow chain around the hub assembly, with the brake calipers removed, then stretch the chain out about six feet, let it hang like a jump rope, then give the chain a good whip. That will crack the rust loose and allow everything to slide off with a bit of effort. If it does not happen right away, just whack them a couple of times and give each hub another shot of Kroil and let them set overnight. They will practically fall off the next day.
