Frame of 3rd Gen vs 2nd Gen

I just totaled my 99 so am looking to upgrade and maybe will get into a 3rd Gen vehicle. I have a custom camper and a custom flat bed I built for the 99 and the flat bed sits at the same height as the standard pickup box so I have wheel wells that stick up above the flat bed. In addition to wheel wells specifically located for the 99 I also had to do specific framing around the Shock towers and accommodate other features on the 99 with custom framing. Does anyone know if the frame for the 3rd gen is significantly different than the 2nd gen? It would be nice if the flat bed would bolt directly on a 3rd gen. I am going to go measure a 3rd Gen this morning but there are things I can't see with the bed on.

The frames are completely different. On the 3rd gens there is very specific directions on where and how you can drill the frame, so be careful.

A search on here will help you. Try to find threads 3 or more years old.
