Well over this past weekend I had some substantial yard work that needed to be done along with a large pile of dirt that need to be transfered to a buddy of mine who could use the dirt. So I rented a dump trailer and a bobcat to do the the job. It was a bobcat S150 which had a nice 4cy kubota diesel that weighed in at about 5600 pounds (I think that is what the guy told me)I am not sure about how much dump trailer weighs bit I figured about 1500-2000lbs. This is the first some what substantial weight that I have pulled with my truck since I bought it and it pull so well (not that I was surprised). I also figured that with a full tank of fuel plus me my truck weight about 5000lbs, I could be wrong.

So 5000 + 5600 + 1500 = 12,100lbs overall is not too bad but not a lot compared to what some of you tow on a daily basis.

It is times like this where I love my 5sp and 4:10's

I believe you are way low on your empty trailer weight. Those things are heavy.

I would guess the trailer at more like 2500-3000 lbs. Your truck probably weighs closer to 6K as well.

I'll add my guess of 3500# to the trailer EW.

It takes quite alot of trailer to get to 5000# My 20' triple axle "eager beaver" is only 4800# and packs a lot of iron including 10" I -beams for frame rails

But nice job, none the less, and in that heat, go get yourself another brewsky.

 

Thanks guys, I dumped the dirt on the road because there was nowhere else and we had to put it some where, plus it was moved later that day. Well since it was my first tow I did not know what to expect so it was a learning experience.

 

We have similar trucks...I'd say your GCVW was a bit north of 15k

 

I had a 92 W250 identical to tha tone pictured, and it weighed 6000# exactly with about 1/2tank of fuel.

I'd say the trailer weighs more than any 2000#. Closer to 3500, even if it is lighter duty. I had a carhauler (18ft) with 5" frame rails, 6K 8-lug axles, and it weighed 2200 or so. No sides of any kind on it.

So, why do you like your 4.10s? Just kidding. If you dont do much interstate driving, 4.10s put your engine in a better RPM range at 55-62 than 3.54s.

WOW really I would have never guessed that much but there are not many weigh stations in my area, that I know of. I guess we do have similar trucks, I do love my single cab but wish sometimes I had the ex cab

 

Yeah, I lie awake at night thinking that if I had a club cab, I could take all that useless junk under my seat and put it in the club cab section. THEN, think of all the extra useless junk I could under the seat!

 

Yeah CC are great but love the look of a single cab especially when you had the stack, WOW I just looked at how many miles you have on your truck How many miles has it been moded?

 

I bought the truck with about 350k on the clock from the second owner. He added gauges and turned it up some when he got it at about 275k. It ran stron when I got it, but I lost the IP at about 390k, but I did crank the pump up to 'kill' when I got it My reman pump is pretty lame compared to the stocker, I set it to kill a month after I put it in.

 

WOW hats off to ya, I barely drive cause my work is around around the corner only 152,200 on mine just a plain jane to afraid to turn things up cause it is very reliable now Yeah my new clutch worked very well with the tow even though it is not a sachs
