Exhaust Temp

Finished the guage install last night. I put the pyro in pre turbo and was wondering what temp I should be running at cruise say 80 mph at 2200 rpm. It shows 250-300 at idol and somewhere between 750-800 cruising and will jump when I have the edge comp on 5x5 and get on it , but has never past 1200. Thanks for all the help.

Sounds like you have it in correctly. It will vary on terrain,load,truck but yours is showing normal. Goodluck,,Rick

I just got mine in as well.

@300 idle.
@800 cruising on freeway.
Had it up to 1200 flooring it yesterday.

Was surprised how much it moved around during an average drive.

All of this on a stock truck.

Well, no fueling mods yet anyway.

I cruise between 400-600, 250-300 idle (depending on whether it's still cooling down from smoking a ricer...) and tops out at about 1250 WOT. That's what you should be looking for. up hills you might see a 2-300 degree increase. If you have a boost gauge, you'll see that go up, too. If it doesn't, there's something wrong.
Other than that, sounds about right.

You need more air.

Scotty II intake (with the cowl hole) or bigger turbo.

Or less fuel.

Smaller injectors would help that.

Perhaps a small wedge of wood under the go fast pedal to keep it from going to WOT so much.

You should consider a scotty 2. If you don't mind the noise, STRAIGHT pipe it!! A bigger turbo can also solve your problems. I'd try the scotty 2 first and go from there.

That would take all the fun out of it.
The truck has 4'' down pipe to tip no muff
I didnt want to spend $200 on a air filter so i got a BHAF instead.
I tryed a hx35 modded turbo and still hit 1550 degrees

How long can i hold 1550 safely?

You could try setting the Turbo master a little higher.

Try 36# and see if it helps.

If you're still running the modded hx35, it could probably handle it?

I'd say no longer than 30 seconds.
About the length of a drag run or sled pull.
With a looooong cool down.

You NEED a Scotty ll ! It will supply your charger with cold air. BHAF uses hot engine compartment air. Also, a larger compressor wheel would help.

Here is a scotty 2.

A bhaf is a Big Honkin Air filter. Here are some more terms to cram into your mind.
