RMDIESEL, do a search on here, there is a link near the top that says "Search," use that and just do a search on the keyword "exhaust" or "drone," etc. There are lots of guys on here who have figured out with the use of certain mufflers how to get rid of drone.

FYI-stock exhaust is 4", so no need to buy a 4" kit, unless you just like spending money. Cut stock muffler off, put in new muffler, and hit the road

I too would just replace the muffler unless you want to go 5 inch.

Yes, No ifs and or buts about it.. I love my 5" but hook up to my 12000lb trailer and when she hits od it gets a little loud until I hit cruising speeds.

I don't know from personal experience but save yourself some money. You allready have 4" so get a performance muffler. Rokkteck.com, donaldson or nelson and be done.. Unless your going for big hp numbers you don't need 5". and don't waste money on buying a 4" system when you allready have 4".

You sure do like those smilies.....

I have the Magnaflow 5" on my truck and love the sound. I haven't had the chance to tow with it but will be hooking my 6k boat up to the truck in the next few weeks so we shall see. I don't notice any added drone just cruising around but did notice that my EGT's were a little cooler.

Agreed, that's what I did. Got a muffler and 6" SS tip welded on for 200 with installation. You already 4" pipe, no need to buy it again.

the only problem with the stock exhaust is that it is not mandrel bent, u will have higher egt's with keeping the stock exhaust pipes and putting a muffler on as oppsosed to going with an aftermarket 4inch system. the smother the bends and transitions in ur exhaust system will produce better path for the exhaust get out of the pipes. thus dropping egt's and freeing up a little power as well. i would deffinatley recommend an aftermarket system to because u are pulling a decent sized trailer, i would take a look at Rolling Big Power's exhaust, they have a killer exhaust, great sound, and great customer service. www.rollingbigpower.com, just my opinion, hope that helps ya.

ya but theres only 4 bends in a stock exhaust and other than the over the axle bend there not that tight of a bend so doubt you gain much from a mandrel bent after market
