what exhaust should i buy???????
Hey guy's
I have a 97 12v and i want to put a exhaust on it. i would like to do a little work to the truck in the future, performance wise but not alot right now. i just don't like spending money twice for the same thing. if i will need 5'' later why should i buy 4'' now. my question is what exhaust should i buy? What Brand? What Size? what is the best flowing? should i have a custom one made? I would like to have it exit in the stock location.
Thanks for ant help you guys will give me.

i just installed a 4" MBRP and have had no issues with in cab noise/drone. it sure is louder outside, but in cab noise only increased under acceleration. once your cruising it is just fine. i have not towed with it yet.

MBRP is just name... I got a 4" 409 stainless turbo back kit on ebay...the cheapest one.. It was under 300.00 shipped to my door ! 409 stainless tube is 409 stainless tube, doesn't matter where it comes from ! When it came, it turned out to be a Diamond Eye kit, Good fit and sounds good. The only thing I did was swap out the included clamps for stainless band clamps but they were a freebie

If you are going to spend the money get a 304 SS kit.
I have the 304 Silverline 4" t-back.

Cant remember if mine is 304 but I also have 4'' silverline tb and a free flow muffler. The muffler is srtaight through with no baffles or anything, Basically straight piped. Itll grumble like a dumptruck down low and roar up top but pretty mellow while drivin steadly. Love it!
BigErks, is 5'' a must for twins? Ive been thinkin about twins lately.

409 will grow a coating of surface rust that actually works like a protective coating. It does not rust like steel and will not rust through. It's just not for show trucks and can look oogly. I researched this thoroughly when I was in the market

My 409 MBRP that I had on my 2000 Dodge Dakota had holes in it when I sold it in 2005.

MBRP here. 4" turbo back 409ss I didn't wanna spend the extra for the 304. Its been on now for at least 3 years. No drone, bolt right up, sounds better, not any noisier in cab if i remember right. Muffler is straight through on it also. I also did not use the clamps it came with. I used stainless steel bands i bought at local truck stop. Me likey
