Exhaust Blues
Exhaust Blues
Just had exhaust installed on my 1992 regular cab Dually and don't like it at all! Also had the same set up on a 1993 Extended cab truck that had a great sound.
stock downpipe, adapter to convert to a 4" pipe, no muffler, 4" tailpipe off of an 2005 and 5" tip.
Like I said, the 1993 truck that I done this to last year, sounds GREAT! But the 1992 I had done today is a little deeper and I can hear it at hwy speeds, but no where near what the 1993 is!
Can anyone tell me why?????

Our neighbor's 93 d250 sounded really loud at idle with the stock exhaust straight piped, but mine with the 4" straight pipe is quieter at idle than his was. I want it the other way around. I wonder if mine has the 21cm turbo on it?
The 1993 is the EXTENDED CAB truck! So, if one should have less noise it should be the extended cab not the regular cab! Both trucks have the same 3.55 gears and automatic transmission, the only diff. between the 2 is the 1993 is a 3/4 ton extended cab and the 1992 is a regular cab dually!
I just done another 1991 regular cab 3/4 ton today and it sounds GREAT, just like the 1993. But someone has adjusted the pump on this truck. I will smoke the mud tires all day long!
