Is it located anywhere other than on the vanity cover where it can eventually disappear forever if not written down?

The reason I ask is because the 24v engines had a metal plate riveted to the front cover with the engine id info. Is the easily faded sticker on our vanity cover all we have for info on these 3rd gen engines?
I've never noticed a plate anywhere on the block or elsewhere.....maybe someone knows something I don't. I do have the info from my barely visible sticker but was just curious if it is listed anywhere else.
