Custom CB Install (well sort of; pics inside)

I got around to installing a good cb over the past couple days. If you have an '06 or newer with the full center console, I guess you already know that there isn't a "good" place to put a full size cb. There isn't anywhere that is completely "out of the way". I made my own little "cb console" and I think it turned out good. As for the radio, it's a General Lee that's been peaked and tuned. Big Al (Sparky's CB Shack) says that it swings about 45 watts modulation so it's doing pretty good; in no way is it a "big radio" but it serves the purpose well. I also upgraded to a SkyThumper ST65DX noise cancelling mic for a little more clarity. I just took my first couple hundred mile trip with it tonight and man it works good. I talked to drivers and they all commented on how rich/deep the sound was. They said it sounded like a "big radio on pills" and I'm guessing that's good. For now, I'm using my ol' faithful 102" whip but I'm thinking about changing over to a Wilson magnet mount antenna.

What do you guys think about the install?

Sweet! I love CB setup pics...
Here's mine, it's a 2950 on a custom bracket and sun shield that I made.
From there is runs through a MagnaForce 900 and when volted just right it will put out right around 1Kw.

I made this setup out of aluminum...
If you have the double decker type center console and take the bottom compartment apart you'll find its a steel shell under the fabric. There were already two 1/4" holes on the face that I used to attach my home made bracket. hope this helps.
Let's keep those CB install pics rolling...

Thanks for the compliments. I really like it so far; everything is easy to get at and the radio works perfect. I think I've finally got my echo and exho tone set right now. You guys have some nice creative ideas as well. Keep 'em coming!

I don't use mine all the time and I didn't want the eye sore in the front seat area so I made a bracket and mounted mine just behind the center console slightly to the passenger side. I can reach back and change channels or anything fine with a quick glance. It works for me.

Nice Job on the install 06CTD, very clean lookin. I like gen lee's, very nice clean sounding radios...It actually is a rather big radio and will talk way better than most straight from the box.
