I am in need of a VP44. Can anyone tell me where is the best place to buy one? Should I look for a remanufactured one or a new one? Is there a better version that is more reliable? Has anyone taken theirs apart and replaced what failed?

 

BatteringRam has a deal on a suped-up pump. Also, I think I saw a brand new one in the TDR classifieds for 800. I'm sure others will chime in.

As long as we are talking about buying VP's.....do any of the aftermarket, or should I say places other than the dealer, provide a warranty on the VP if the pump wire is tapped? I've lost a couple of VP install jobs because we couldn't provide any warranty on a tampered pump if it were to fail within the 12/12 warranty on our parts. I would have no problem getting a pump from somewhere besides our parts department if a warranty is provided. Thanks for the info!!
