What box??? I am confused...

I thought I wanted the quadzilla 0,30,60,100 module for my truck. After reading some of the post lately I am wondering if this is still the box I want. What is the most trouble free box out there? One which is not going to throw codes or damage anything on my truck? Edge, Quad, and Bully have been the main ones I have researched but I am open to suggestions. By the way, my truck is an 03 HO...

If you buy a new Quad box it will most likely come with the new flash and new hookup, if not it is only a small number of trucks that have any probles at all with them, Quad is just goin the extra mile to make his product perfect. I had the edge EZ for a while but wanted more..... this box does it and will for some time, I drive mostly on the lowest setting, heck it is winter, roads are exiting enough without the extreme levels of power this thing gives. If you do decide on the quad remember this, if it ain't right they will make it so that it is with the only cost being shipping, and that is cheap, even insured for 400 bux mine went for right around ten bux and was back to me in about five days...... if this is hard to follow pleas see why in let it snow thread...........

I have had the Quad race box and now the BD power pup.I had two constant codes with the quad box,no codes with the BD power pup. Some folks have had good customer service from quad when they had problems with there quad boxes showing codes,I did not,I was told by there techs to keep checking connections on my quad box to no avail.I gave up and got rid of it.Good luck on your choice.coobie

write the boxes all down on a small seperate piece of paper and put them in a hat and pick one and get the one you pick because I have yet to hear of a box that has been 100% trouble free . I had the opposite experience that coobie had power pup not very impressive and throws codes on perf. and extreme settings sent it back for reflash and same thing my quad race box feels stronger and has yet to give me a problem or code.

This box stuff is new to me, after having a 97. I'm thinking of a box to wake up the top end and I'm in the shopping mode, too. I don't want to exceed the safe drivetrain or egt limits - just want it respectable! Is the power pup timing and duration? I don't want pressure. The power pup saves the stock program and will reinstall it if it is removed. Sounds like a great idea! Does it leave any tracks? A friend has an Edge on his 03 - I think it's an EZ cause it was in the lower price range. His 03 runs GOOOOD! I'm leaning towards the power pup tho. I already have the gauges - EVs. Any input on a mild box is most welcome - TIA! Craig

I like coobie had the same codes (0192 and 0237), seen on other boards. When I called Quadzilla, I got a jerk named Jeramy, who gave me the run around. When I posted my problem in an existing thread in an other board which Quad was participating in (two different threads) I got no answer. My problem is related to having an exhaust brake (do not use the brake and all is fine) but the brake is important to me and cost over $ 1,000. Quad's customer service does not need gravity. I changed to an Edge/ Attitude.

I enjoy the Triple Dog, has been working well for me. No issues except installing the software upgrade early on. The newer upgrades have been working better for me. I even have the 06 Upgrade for the pup (hoping it did something for the earlier ones). Truck still runs great, (WOT will beat almost anything I've felt) and the internet upgrades are great features. They added some stuff for the 06 Dodges, I just hope they put them on the older vehicles soon.

I used to run an EZ with no problems.
I now have a Quad race box with no problems.
I also now run a Van Aaken C3.2 with no problems.
Turn the Quad and VA on at the same time. No Problem.......

The Quad box is by far the best of the three that I've owned. Power comes on low where you want it. The EZ and VA, while both powerful boxes, seem to come on at the top end only.

The name game

From all the different ways you guys use names for your box/chips, you would think everyone was a expert on them. What I mean is that EZ, Juice, Edge/Attitude, VA, Pup, Power Pup, BD, PPE, Quad, Van Aaken C3.2, Quad race box, Triple Dog, Quadzilla, Quad box, Xcelerator, Quad box ZXT . Thats only on this thread. What are the company names that make these things? Are there more than 3 or 4 companies? If I'm going to make a list I need to know what is what!

Yes, it's cornfusing! TST is a good one, also. Check out www.piersdieselresearch.com. He sells several brands and the site gives good explainations of each. There are boxes that use combinations of timing, injector duration and rail pressure to get the power. Cummins recommends NOT to use pressure increase, wear-n-tear on the hi-pressure pump. Most
would be happy with the gain from timing and duration only. Timing control is a must and duration is the next most logical way, because of fuel/burn efficiency. Pressure starts affecting reliability but they say a little increase might be OK. Craig
