BD Dyno day results

What a great day up at BD today, great show up, weather was decent for April.. and for the #..the high was a 632 12v 2nd gen.. i ended up posting a 475/1110? I was kinda upset at first, but after talking to quit a few ppl, i guess this is right where this set up should be, so maybe bigger injectors in the future, egt's never got over 1100, and my smoke cleaned up really quick...but i did get 17.8 mpg on the trip over from MT.. so guess i need to decide what i wanna do.. dyno queen or just drive it like i stole it...hahahha i do that all the time..!!

could not get up there.....seems I promised the wife I'd do the yard spring cleaning this weekend so's me and the guys could go out for opening day next weekend. was fishin or trucks......was a REAL hard decision. The look she gave me when i tried to get out the spring cleanin the clincher.....i hate the "LOOK".
Broke the dodge anyhow. seems the flex plate was not up to the task.

My wife tries to give me the look....not lately though. She kinda stopped ever since the time I did the "Ace Ventura Pet Detective" on her. You know....bend over & talk with your cheeks... "You mind if I --- you a Question".

Good show buddy. Those are pretty respectable numbers for a real driver rig.

High HP was 658. I guess he was also blowing the tires off the dyno. There's more there.

Here's a link to his run.

Victory burnout

Good burnout gone bad!

Dont you just luv mustang dynos. You need about 2 tons of weight and some heavy straps to get her to hook. Could be worse, could have shot in some spray and the tires would have turned to vapor.

Nice looking truck, I like the single stack..

Yeah, my truck liquified the tires on that same dyno. That's why I don't bother to go up any longer. If you have the right tire diameter, the right compound and the right right pressure, it'll hook.

I talked to Camo and his 40" rubber broke free as well. This truck had 265/75-16 on I believe.

Ok. sorry it took so long to get back on here, so i made the trip back to MT gettin 19.2 mpg and thats with the 150's, the smarty on fuel/boost and adr. on 1...running 75 in WA and 78 in ID and MT.. so i dont think i'm going to do anything with it, as for the dyno run, i had smarty on 8 and the adr on 10 with the comp 3000 tune loaded.. had to change it after the run, VERY surgy and bucky, not forsure why but that just started with the bigger sticks.. i blazed the tires on both of my runs as well. the first one was like a 455 run..then they restrapped it and run the 475..and still hazed em a little...sooo.. i am running some Geolanders 285's...guess i need a little more bite.. thanks

Is it any different on a Dynojet? I have seen smoking tires on two local dyno's, Shelly's and Davis Diesel. Kinda the nature of the beast.

Looks like it would have been fun, need to get my passport, so I can get back into this sorry *** lib*** state.

Its for the free burger. I enjoy just hanging out with fellow gear head/diesel guys. I wished I could have went this spring, but there is always fall. Might take in a few dyno runs/tractor pulls this summer. I couldn't get off work this time.
The race track at Mission is kinda magical, everyone seems to run the best times on that track. Just a rumor

Most dynojets will hook better. It just depends. And some have different amounts of wear on the drum that can also have an effect.

But BD's has always been the worst Mustang dyno for me, even with low power. Don't know exactly why. But a vid from one of my runs has the tires throwing a wave on the backside! So I would say there is some bind there from the tire size and or the roller placement maybe.

It's all just a guess on my part.

Mustang dynos are a load style dyno so the numbers are usually lower than a dynojet which doesn't load it. We just had the rollers knurled as well. Last year we were able to get almost 1000hp to stick. It is a combination of the right tires and some weight. All in all it was a good day. Thanks to all that came out.
