Attempted Break In
Hey guys I just got my truck out the shop today and while filling up realized I had a new dent in my drivers door around the handle. Well as I inspected it you can see where some sack of **** tried to get a screw drivewr under the door handle and pry the handle off to open the door. I called the dealership cause it wasn't like that before then and they are saying they inspected it before and nothing was wrong with it. I'm waiting on a call from the manager but then what are my options if he tells me they aren't gonna fix it? All I can figure is if their inspection for shows no damage before they worked on it then they have to fix it since it's now there. Also once fixed is there anything I can do to prevent them from being able to get into my truck if thats tried again. Thanks

Well technically when you picked up the truck you should have done the inspection to determine if there were any damages to the truck before you took possession. After that is there word against your word. I know it sucks.
Maybe the manager will be more customer oriented.

good luck with the dealership. i'm on the verge of eating the rest of my warranty and just dealing with any repairs myself- it might cost me a couple of dollars, but i just can't deal with dealer crap anymore.

Did this happen at Appel Dodge? I don't live too far from Brenham. Jimmie-Jammers will help you out.

They don't actually pry the handle off. They MAY have actually gotten the door unlocked. This way leaves less of a tell tale for them to get caught if they were actually driving it.

well it may not have happened at the dealership and I not noticed it before cause I've been looking for my gps for about 2 months now so as stated they may have gotten into it. the dent is only minor but I still wish it wasn't there any tips on pulling it without damaging the paint and yes it was at Appel Dodge in brenham. I live in burton just up the road and personally I am VERY happy with Appel if this wasn't their fault as warranty just covered 3 new injectors and the CP3 being replaced.

when they tried to steal mine last summer, the took a screw driver and hammer between the sheet metal and the plastic handle. when the body shop removed the handle the sheet metal was actually torn so they had to do a big repair and paint.
does it look like this?
this is what they did to the interior
they laid the back seat down looking for stereo equipment
They did not get the truck and am thankful for that.

Gotcha, I'm in the Carmine area alot, we oughta meet up at La Bahia hall or something. We've had good luck with Appel too.
As far as the dent, your best bet will be to pull the handle and get a block of steel behind there, and hit against it with a rubber mallet. Lay a towel over the door. Can you take any pics and post?

Yeah that sucks about the breakin, jimmi jammers will def. fix that. I know how you feel, if anyone notices it it can give them ideas. You should be able to bend it back and touch it up.
