I have a 1999 Dodge 5.9 diesel and the accelerator pedal is kicking out. I can let it all the way up, pump it 1 or 2 times and it kicks right back in. The check engine light is on also. I'm pretty sure this is my APPS. Is there anything I can do before I spend $400. 00 for a new one or could something else possibly be causing this? I can use any and all help anyone can offer with this.

Have some read the codes. Auto Zone or such. If you have a 216 code it is the VP-44, not the APPS. SNOKING
